27th November 2013
I will also be partaking in a couple of other cycle challenges over the coming months, starting in September 2011 when I'll be taking part in the London to Brighton ride. I also hope to participate in London Olympic Nightrider in 2012.
As with previous years, I will be cycling in 2012 in memory of my daughter Melissa, who sadly died in May 2008, nine months after being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. Since Mel passed away over £17,000 has been raised in her memory, a phenominal amount and Julie, Becky and I can't thank you enough for all your generousity.
Lymphoma is the 5th most common cancer in the UK. It is the most common in the under 30s age group. The Lymphoma Associaton give support to anyone affected by lymphoma, including patients, family, carers, friends and their literature is also used and is highly valued by the medical profession. They were of great support to Melissa and to us as a family.
